Powder
Coating
Being
an OEM ourselves, we realize the importance of prompt service and
accurate information. Additionally, we understand the priority of
a consistent, attractive finish and meeting customer requirements.
These basic tenets precipitated our decision in 1991 to go ahead
with expansion plans to add a modern powder coating operation. Thus,
today we are able to directly maintain and control the quality of
our product from start to finish.
Signas

Unique Powder Coating Features
Our 660 automated overhead conveyor relays parts through our
five stage, pressure spray washer system pretreating parts with
alkaline cleanser and iron phosphate.
Next they travel
through the dry-off oven before entering the climate controlled
powder room. Here the parts are sent through one of the largest
Nordson coating booths in Northeast Ohio with a 90" (H) x 28"
(W) opening. One of the benefits of our Nordson system is the cyclone
reclaiming system, which offers up to 95% efficiency.
As parts enter
the powder booth fourteen (14) automatic spray guns apply a full
coverage. However, before exiting the booth, they must pass through
inspection and touch up done by our two (2) manual assist gun operators.
Parts then exit
the powder room and travel into a convection cure oven where parts
are cured per the technical data sheets of the powder being applied.
Finally, parts
pass through rigid quality inspection (including visual inspection,
mil readings, pencil hardness, and MEK rubs) and are packaged per
your specifications.
